Chapter 3 - Crossed paths:
"Firstly, let's get you in some new clothes!" Ryu exclaimed excitedly. Change clothes? I look perfectly fine. "No." I refused. Ryu sighed, "I can't bring you out dressed in those rags, can I? You're dressed in your uniform milady." Before I could retort, he cut me short, "Remember, the bet."
Right, the bet, how could I ever forget.
"Fine." I replied coldly. Ryu sighed again and pulled me towards the city.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I hate you." I said.
"Yes, I get the drift. You've said that at least a thousand times now you know?" Ryu laughed. Ok, firstly, I feel like slapping him for dressing me in this way. Secondly, I hate him for dressing me in this way and thirdly, I hate this dress. This frilly, pink garment which reaches all the way to my feet. It's just so hard to move in it. Where does he want to bring me anyway? SAN FRANCISCO? Okay, that sounds a bit far-fetched, I can still remember what happened when he first let me set foot in the city.
FLASHBACK-
Ryu kept explaining to me that I had to wait for the green man to light up before I could cross the rode, or was it road? I wanted to shoot that huge moving object cause it was gonna hit me but Ryu catched me and pulled me back. "Let me go! That thing can kill people!" I screamed. I kept struggling against his vice-like hold but all my efforts were futile. "Kylie, that's a car. It doesn't kill people, it helps people move around. Wait, maybe they do kill people who just JUMP OUT ONTO THE ROAD TRYING TO SHOOT IT WITH A DAMN GUN." Ryu screamed back at me. He looked pretty exasperated and since I didn't understand a single thing he was saying, I just continued struggling.
-END OF FLASHBACK
So now I'm in this black car going to some unknown area dressed in this frilly pink dress with my stupid childhood friend who's smiling away so gaily like some five-year-old. He keeps turning the wheel around and the car turns with it. Cars look pretty cool to me now than it did the first time I saw it. Well, this is only the second time I've been to the city. The first time I did was with my mother and it was only because she wanted to buy new clothes for me(I'm kind of adverse to clothes so you can visualise what happened when my mother tried to fit me into some normal clothes. I freaked and never wanted to come back to the city again.)
We finally stopped at a huge mansion. To call it huge is a severe understatement. The heavy-chained metal gates alone were ten metres wide and twenty metres tall. In front of the mansion was a fountain the size of my house's pavillion and in the centre stood a beautiful angel carrying a golden pot. The streak of water that spouted from the pot dazzled in the moonlight and I gaped in awe as Ryu continued driving through the gate and into the carpark set aside for the guests. A carpark. Right.
"Where are we?" I asked while tugging at Ryu's sleeve as we made our way through the throng of people. "A party, isn't it obvious?" Ryu answered sarcastically. I scowled at him and we continued to make our way through the crowd. Ryu eventually stopped in front of an old couple and their faces immediately brightened up.
"Oh my, you made it for our party! We haven't seen you in ages our dear Ryu!" the old lady cheered. She pulled him into a tight embrace and I had to cough before they finally beared to part. "Is this your girlfriend?" the old lady asked innocently and I immediately tried to retort, "N-" but Ryu covered my mouth and said, "Yeah." while holding my waist and pulling me closer to him.
"I hate you." I whispered softly into his ear so that the old couple wouldn't be able to hear it. Then he whispered back, just as softly, "I know." I tried to keep up a fake smile as Ryu continued going around shaking hands and greeting people.
This party is really boring.
I almost yawned but I managed to hold it back. Unluckily for me, I think Ryu noticed it as he pulled me away from the woman he was talking to onto the dance floor. A new song played and I stared in horror as Ryu wrapped his hands around my waist. "Let's dance." he commented casually.
"I'll step on you."
"Ok."
"I'll trip."
"Ok."
"I'll make a fool out of myself."
"You won't. Well, I won't let you." he winked.
I sighed and gave in. I realised that this was a dance I had to give. We slowly moved to the beat of the music while Ryu continued to lead the dance. I felt a bit tired and leaned my head on his chest. I have to admit that this feels kind of nice. I guess dancing isn't so bad afterall.
"Kylie..." Ryu muttered. I awoke and looked at him in surprise. I fell asleep on his chest. While we were dancing. On the dance floor. "Oh, sorry, I didn't know I fell asleep, it was just so com-" I stopped myself mentally. I wasn't about to say that it felt comfortable sleeping on Ryu's chest. He chuckled and said, "I woke you up cause the music's almost finished." I listened tentatively to the music and heard the pianist hold on a note which I presumed to be its last. "Oh, yeah, thanks for the wake-up call. Like you couldn't have woken me up the moment I fell asleep." I muttered sarcastically. "Sorry, you just looked so angelic." he smiled. Like I was gonna fall for that.
'Kylie, will you promise me not to throw a fit?" he asked cautiously.
"Err, why?" I asked, confused.
"Cause I'm about to do something that will make you hate me for the rest of your life."
Then without any warning, he kissed me.
So I did what any girl would have done under my circumstances, I pulled away and slapped him.
Okay, maybe not what any girl would have done, but that's what I would have done.
And I did.
I mean, HELLO? MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND CUM TUTOR CUM RYU JUST STOLE MY FIRST KISS.
That was when I remembered that I was in the middle of the dance floor and everyone was staring at me. Or us.
Uh-oh.
Uhh, just something I found on the net o_o but as you can see, this is chapter 3 LOL
"You leave me SPEECHLESS, when you talk to me."
